Coding Club: the newest club at LWE!

Coding+Club%3A+the+newest+club+at+LWE%21

In this new school year, we have seen the start of a brand-new club. Coding club! Coding club was started up by senior, Max Bacon and sponsored by LWE’s very own Computer Science teacher, Mr. Trayser.

The coding club had their first informational meeting on September 2nd. It was shocking to see just how many students had shown up with around 45 students deciding to sign up for the club. The club will be held on Thursdays, 4 times each semester. Although, Mr. Trayser has expressed the possibility of holding the club biweekly if there is a large amount of interest in the club.

Why should you join the club? Coding is a fun and useful skill to have. Coding applies not only to those going into computer science but also other fields of STEM and many other carriers. It is simple to learn and this LWE club is welcome to those with novice or no knowledge in computer coding. Mr. Trayser alongside other experienced students, are there to teach members of the club how to code with python.

Max Bacon hopes to build up this club to eventually be able to enter into coding competitions and compete against other schools. If you are interested in joining, be sure to attend the next coding club meeting in October!
