Every year as the autumn leaves fall and the season changes into winter, the beloved Creamery closes. We are forced to go without ice cream from the best parlor until the weather gets warmer. Well, the warm weather is finally here! The Frankfort Creamery will be opening up March 8th, and other locations are already open!
The Creamery is a very nostalgic place for kids that grew up in Frankfort. It’s the place you biked to with your family as a kid or begged your parents to stop at when driving home after practice. It is undeniable that the Creamery is a staple to Frankfort. Now that the sign is off the windows and the lights are back on, we can finally get our favorite sundaes and shakes from the Creamery.
If you have never been to The Creamery, I would highly recommend trying it out this season! They have a large menu of items such as sundae combinations unique to just The Creamery! They also have many other items if you do not like sundaes. They have milkshakes, hard scoop ice cream, blasters, and slushies! Some of the most popular items on the menu are the turtle sundae, candyland sundae, and the Reeses blaster. The twist cone, a combination of both the chocolate and vanilla ice cream split half and half, is a very popular item that almost everyone could enjoy! They even have a baby size for certain items if you want just a taste of something. This is great for trying multiple different things!
One of my personal favorite items is the dole whip! Dole whip is a dairy free, fruity, and refreshing soft-serve ice cream. The Dole whip has a flavor of the week which is changed every Tuesday. The flavors switch between orange, lemon, cherry, mango, and the most popular flavor, pineapple. Each of the flavors can even be swirled together with vanilla ice cream to make a new sweet and refreshing treat. My personal favorite is the cherry!
With this new season, the Frankfort Creamery is introducing some new things! The first thing is a groundskeeper which will keep the location clean and beautiful for all of the customers. There is no need to fear spilt ice cream or fall leaves any longer! The more exciting addition is the new flavor of the week for blasters! Similar to the Dole whip, the flavor will be changed every week. This new item has already been sold at the Mokena Creamery for the past 2 weeks! The flavors thus far have been red velvet cake and Lucky Charms. I can’t wait to see what other flavors they come up with!
