It’s that time of year again: Christmas time! Listening to the Lincoln Way East Madrigals is a fun and festive way to celebrate the season! Madrigals is an A Capella group full of talented singers and actors that will captivate the audience! The setting, music, and costumed production dates to the Renaissance Era and includes yuletide dinners, desserts, and some of your favorite holiday tunes with a twist!
The Madrigal’s are made up of four different groups. There are the Actors, who perform several scenes from The King and Queen’s Celebratory Christmas feast. These comical scenes will have you laughing aloud and create a heartwarming feeling. The characters include the King, Queen, Jester, Wench, Steward, Court Dancer, and Shakespearean Actors!
Another group that you will appreciate is Bel canto. Bel canto is an all-female singing group of Madrigals made up of sopranos and altos. This group is a bit larger and sings many peaceful, exciting, and beautiful pieces of music that the audience will surely enjoy!
The Singers make up a group of Sopranos (1& 2), Altos, Tenors, and Bases and sing more advanced music that is incredibly exciting and so beautiful the audience will be left in awe!
The final group within the Madrigals are the Troubadours. The Troubadours are an all-male group that consists of Tenors (1 and 2), Baritones, and Bases. The Troubadours sing jaw dropping music in VERY low notes which are an enjoyable part of the show.
During the holiday season, Madrigals is a fun and festive event that is uplifting and is guaranteed to get you into the holiday spirit and fill your heart with amazing music! The Madrigals “Of Silver & Song” will be performing December 5-7th and tickets can be purchased through the Lincoln Way East music department or at https://www.ticketleap.events/tickets!
