As the holiday season rolls around, Sean Booth and I decided to comprise a list of the best Christmas movies to watch as your cold December gradually builds up to the most glorified and celebrated time of the year.
“A Charlie Brown Christmas”: An old timey animated classic that explores the true meaning of Christmas.
“National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation”: A celebrated comedy exploring the realistic struggles of the holiday season.
“How the Grinch Stole Christmas”: Based on the classic Dr. Seuss story of a grumpy grinch attempting to ruin Christmas for everyone else aside from himself.
“Love Actually”: A romantic comedy that follows the lives of several couples in London during the Holiday season.
“The Santa Clause”: A comedy/drama about a suburban man causing Santa Clause to fail at his job so that this man must take his place.
“Elf”: A feel-good film following the tale of a boy raised as an elf who is set apart from his elf counterparts.
“Home Alone”: A family classic about a young boy who is mistakenly left behind on his family Christmas trip to fend for himself.
“A Christmas Story”: Enters the life of a hopeful young boy in hopes of receiving a daring gift with many challenging events along the way.
“Miracle on 34th Street”: A heartwarming story on a local corner store about a Santa who claims to be the real deal.
“It’s a Wonderful Life”: The most timeless classic on the meaning of life, while having a Christmas background, explored through George Bailey and his guardian angel.
