Highschoolers throughout the world are starting to gain more responsibilities such as jobs. Whether it is fast food, retail, babysitting etc. This has become a common part of teenagers’ lives. It can bring both benefits and challenges when you are a student. Some students claim that they do it to get experience and manage their time more efficiently while others might claim that they are only in it for the money. Either way, there are both negatives and positives that we can be sure of, although this can vary from student to student. However, the way that students with jobs could be good is that it teaches them a sense of responsibility and time management. This is crucial for people in the real world so why not start learning it as soon as possible. Students can gain financial independence as well even if they are only paying for a few things such as car insurance and gas, but really that can help students understand the value of money and how much you need to save in order to pay your expenses. These first jobs are also resume builders and will get you work experience to help you get future jobs. Now the way that this could be an issue with students in the workforce is if their grades are plummeting and can’t keep up with the schoolwork. Students will have less free time which could lead to stress and distraction from future goals because they don’t have time to put towards them. Though There are pros and cons as long as you are still pleased with your academics it couldn’t hurt to work a couple days a week with experts stating that students shouldn’t worth more than 10-15 hours a week and is for good reason because it can avoid complications of not enough time but still being able to gain some of the benefits such as experience and money.
