On October 17th and 18th, Lincoln-Way East had their Fall Play: Runaways. Students had worked hard to bring life to the play and performed it for all to see! Many had thought the performances were amazing and dazzling; all students who worked on it should be proud of themselves in what they were able to accomplish. Many who saw the play thought that it was a hit, and it was well worth watching! Eliana Herbst, the student costume director, worked extremely hard on the costumes, often doing sewing herself and organized the actor’s costumes so their clothes suited their characters. She says that the play was about a college student who volunteered at a runaway house, a place where kids would stay for the night and get therapy as well as other things. The show tackles with themes of abuse, an issue not talked about enough in society, and how “small” problems can feel gigantic to those who are dealing with them. Herbst also announces that there be a spring play; however, the play itself has not been announced yet, but audiences will take place in December. If you want to get involved in any way possible for the spring play production, talk to the theater department for more information on how to get involved or participate!
