It’s this time of year again! The 2024 performance of the Madrigal Dinner show is arriving in Lincoln-Way East this weekend! The theme of this year is Eternal Harmony: The Ballad of Life and Death! Some say that there might even be a surprising murder to take place on the exciting nights!
The Madrigals performance is held during December 6th, 7th, and 8th and is choral music from 16th century England, with elegant costumes, dinner, dessert, and a beautifully decorated stage that all can enjoy.
A senior who is a part of the Bel Conto group, Maggie Brown, commented that she had been a part of Madrigals for all four years of high school and loved every moment of it. She said that the music, the people from the production, and the gorgeous costumes for the show are all very much fun, and that it is a wonderful production to be a part of.
Ann McMann, one of the main directors of the Madrigals show, had stated that the new set up for the performance dinner will be exciting as it will be on stage. It will feel more personal and interactive for the audience than past years due to Covid and she says the audience will really enjoy the new layout for the show. As the theme for this year is unique, Ms. McMann has chosen songs in the minor key to fit the theme and capture the unique essence of the forces between life and death.
Gina Vitucci, in charge of writing the script and director for the actors, has stated that Madrigals is a wonderful event that is an excellent way to enter the holiday season. It is an amazing tradition for the community and families as the singers sing beautiful choral music for all to hear.
Ticket sales end this Thursday, December 5th, and if you have nothing planned for this coming weekend, it is recommended that you come and see the humorous, heartful, and wonderful show of Madrigals.
