Best Halloween Candy

Halloween and Christmas are the two holidays that are debated the most about being a person’s favorite. This year everyone was looking forward to tricking or treating along with friends because there are not as many covid protocols this year. According to the National Retail Federation’s annual 2021 Halloween spending survey, around $3 billion is expected to be spent on candy this year. Last year candy sales took a plunge because everyone was trying to stay away from strangers. In America, there is a debate over which candy tastes the best though. According to CandyStore.com, the top 10 candies in America are Reese’s Cups, Skittles, M&M’s, Starburst, Hot Tamales, Sour Patch Kids, Hershey Kisses, Snickers, Tootsie Pops, Candy corn. Even though Reese’s Cups was voted number 1 in the country, it didn’t win number 1 in most states. Starburst and Sour Patch kids won 6 states over being the most liked candy in the most states. Starburst was most popular in Alabama, Idaho, Indiana, Michigan, South Dakota and Texas while Sour Patch Kids was most popular in Alaska, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Nebraska and New York. After surveying 20 upperclassmen, they voted that Reese’s were the best candy while most said that regular M&Ms were their least favorite. Skittles and Butterfingers came close for 2nd and 3rd place though. In my opinion, Reese’s will always be the most superior Halloween Candy, but most people do believe that Reese’s are better in different shapes than in the peanut butter cup shape.
